ANNAPOLIS MEDIA ADVISORY

NEW REPORT ASSESSES MARYLAND’S RECENT TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS, IDENTIFIES STATE’S TOP BOTTLENECKS, EVALUATES ROAD & BRIDGE CONDITIONS AND HIGHWAY SAFETY

A new report that evaluates the benefits of Maryland’s recent transportation investments, identifies the state’s top 30 bottlenecks, examines current road and bridge conditions, and assesses traffic safety will be released at a news conference in Annapolis at 3:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, May 17. The report is being released by TRIP, a national nonprofit transportation research group based in Washington, DC.

The report, “Keeping Maryland Mobile: Progress and Challenges in Providing an Efficient, Safe and Well-Maintained Transportation System,” finds that despite recent improvements, the state still faces a significant challenge in improving mobility, conditions and safety, and supporting long-term economic growth.

Rocky Moretti, TRIP’s director of research and policy, will present the findings of the report at the news conference. Local speakers will also be on hand to comment on the report.
